Latin Learning Journey
In late 2021 I started to learn Latin because I found it interesting and wanted to learn more about Roman history. I am teaching myself Latin through language learning apps like Duolingo, videos that explain the grammar, websites that talk about Roman history, and books written in Latin. I can read basic Latin books, write in Latin, kinda know the grammar of Latin, and speak Latin. I know some of the differences between Classical and Vulgar Latin. If a Roman from the past came back to life I think I could have a short conversation with them, although I would be concerned on how they came back to life. I would say that I'm doing well in my Latin learning journey and I feel that if I tried I could write a small article in Latin. This is why I placed myself at A2.
Edit: Haven't been focusing on Latin for a bit in favor of Russian but I have been reading little passages in books that are written in Latin so I'm still practising and learning!
Edit: Learning many Latin roots that are used in English right now to freshen up!
Esperanto Learning Journey
In early 2023 I started to learn Esperanto with language learning apps and videos because I learned that this language was created as a language that was expected to be spoken by the entire world. I soon also learned that this language didn't actually have the entire world in mind as it mostly took inspiration from Latin originating languages and left out most of the rest (except for German and some others). This language is very similar to Latin, a language that I am and have been learning for a little while which is what got it to A1 but if it wasn't for that it would probably be left unleveled.
Edit: Not going to be focusing on this language for a while, will update when I do though.
Edit: Fixed a spelling error in the sentence above.
